Earith WI Host Earth
Collection Show
Another great night at the Women’s
Institute. The Earth Collection of St Ives presented their
Spring and Summer Collection with the help of seven lovely W.I.
Models. Taking part (from left to right) were Tracy, Jackie,
Joyce, Sybil, Monica, Marion and Sharon.
The show was presented by husband
and wife team Jan and Steve Hinde, who opened the Earth
Collection Shop in St Ives 2 years ago. Everybody was given 10%
off vouchers to spend at the shop and they also very kindly
donated prizes for the raffle, so a big thank you to Earth
Collection for helping to make a great evening.
Followed up with a glass of wine for everyone, and tea and cakes to round off the evening’s entertainment. The draw was made of completed 2007 loyalty cards on Monday 7th January and the £100 voucher was won by Jane Inglis. Our congratulations go to her. Dickensian Christmas Market
On Sunday the 2nd December the
annual Dickensian Christmas Market was held in St Ives from
11.00AM to 6.00PM.There were dozens of stalls selling a wide
variety of goods including The Earth Collection plus many food
stalls catering for all tastes and bringing Christmas cheer to
the town.
All stallholders were dressed in
Dickensian style costume and there were fairground rides from a
bygone era, carol singers, a brass band and much more. In the
late afternoon there was entertainment in Market Hill
culminating in the switching on of the Christmas lights and a
fireworks display.
____________________________________________________________________ We took part in a fashion show on Wednesday 17th October to raise funds for the St Ives Town Initiative. A very successful evening was enjoyed by over 70 fashion fans at the Free Church Hall with over £300 being raised to help put on events such as the Dickensian Christmas Market to promote St Ives and keep the town an interesting and vibrant place for residents and visitors alike.

Cancer Care Fashion Show A fashion show
organised by the Macmillan Cancer Care Committee and presented by
The Earth Collection of St Ives raised over £700 for this very
worthy cause. The show was eagerly anticipated selling out two weeks
before the event with many people disappointed in their search for a
ticket.

The ladies of Willingham braved a cold wet Friday night to attend a fashion show by The Earth Collection of St Ives. The event was organised by Willingham Womens Institute to raise funds for their organisation and The Earth Collection was pleased to lend it’s support. There were 75 tickets sold for the event which entitled the holder to a glass of wine and nibbles in addition to the show. Plus raffle tickets were sold on the night. They were then treated to a parade of five volunteer models displaying The Earth Collection’s Autumn/Winter range. The models, Val, June, Sarah, Gina and Mary all took to the catwalk like seasoned professionals and showed the clothing to best effect. Jan Hinde joint owner of The Earth Collection in St Ives said how pleased she was with the evening and the feedback from the audience had been very positive. It made all the hard work of preparation worthwhile. The evening raised over £160 and was voted a great success by Gill Brown President of the Willingham WI.
